Neville
Neville loves his roses; they are his art.
Neville was an existing Miller Home resident before officially becoming a Wintringham resident 12 years ago. He planted all his Double Delight rose bushes over 12 years ago, and they have highly fragrant blooms.
Neville’s interest in gardening started in High School in Mudgee, NSW. While at high school, Neville received a lot of encouragement, so spent a lot of time gardening. Neville prunes his roses once per year in autumn, when all the leaves have fallen. Neville says that planting and maintaining roses is good for the body, mind, and soul.

Neville is the youngest of nine children, with five sisters and four brothers. He said that he loves his family, they were a good family. Neville worked as a shearer and a general labourer. When working as a jackaroo in Cootamundra New South Wales in 1982, he sheared a whopping 183 sheep in only eight hours.

Neville celebrated his 90th birthday last year and is hoping to continue caring for his roses for many years to come.
